Finally some good news for Attack on Titan fans. There were many rumours of Studio Mappa delaying the final season of Attack on Titan as there was no official announcement of any kind and NHK also removed Attack on Titan from the list of Anime premiering in Fall 2020.
Attack on Titan is a global phenomenon based on Hajime Isayama’s popular manga which begin its serialization on September 9, 2009 in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine which is monthly magazine of kodansha. Manga saw rise in its popularity in 2013 when first season of anime came out. From that point attack on titan has broken many records including highest number of volumes sold in a year.
Crunchyroll official twitter account have confirmed that final season of attack on titan is set to premiere later this year. Final season will stream subbed and dubbed on Funimation as well.
Anime watchers as well as manga readers were anxiously waiting for this good news. After the release of first trailer of the final season where premiere date of october 2020 was mentioned but was later removed. There was complete silence from Studio Mappa as well.
Attack on Titan manga is also nearing the end as there are only 4 to 5 chapters are left as creator of the Attack on Titan revealed that there is only 5% of the story left. Fans are hoping that the animation of the final season will be as good as previous three seasons.
