Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Sales Increase 10 Times After The Film Premiere

Jujutsu Kaisen manga sales have increased exponentially after the release of Jujutsu Kaisen movie 0. Generally, when an anime adaptation gets released, there is an increase in the manga sales as well. After all, an anime is made to promote the manga series and merchandise.

From Dec 13 to Dec 19, Jujutsu Kaisen manga sold 108,471 copies. From Dec 20 to Dec 26, Jujutsu Kaisen sold 1,124,095 manga copies, which is almost 10 times from the previous period. It would be interesting to see how much more boost manga will get due to the film release. It should be pointed out that this is only 2 days boost from the film (movie released on Dec 24).

Jujutsu Kaisen movie 0 premiered in Japan on Dec 24. It was the 2nd highest grossing film on opening weekend in Japan (Of course, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is the 1st). The anime film earned around 2.7 billion yen ($23.5 million) in the first 3 days. In case you are wondering, when the film is coming out worldwide? There is no release date announced yet by the production committee.

Jujutsu Kaisen manga series is written and illustrated by Akutami Gege. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018, which has been collected in 18 volumes so far. An anime adaptation, produced by Studio Mappa, released in October 2020.
