On Sept 3, Netflix revealed the logo and the first chapter title for One Piece live action series.
One Piece live action series logo looks pretty awesome. There’s a giant skull in front of “One,” and if you look carefully, you might see someone standing inside the nose of the skull. The first chapter is titled “Romance Dawn”.
What we know so far about One Piece live action?
In 2017, Weekly Shonen Jump announced that there will be an American live action adaptation for One Piece series. There is not a lot of information available about the One Piece live action. After Netflix announced the series in January 2020, this might be the first major piece of information revealed yet.
One Piece Author is involved in the production?
According to several sources, one piece creator is an executive producer in the production of the live action series. Meaning that he should have considerable influence over the key decisions like hiring the right actors for the job.
What arc will be adapted in the live action series?
According to What’s on Netflix, One Piece live action season 1 will consist of 10 episodes. It will cover the story of Recruiting Zoro, Sanji, Nami and Usopp, and probably end with Luffy’s fight with Arlong.
Which Studio is producing the series?
Live action series is being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. Tomorrow Studios will be producing the series, they have also worked on hit Netflix series like “Snowpiercer”, and currently they are also working on Cowboy Bepop live action adaptation.

Netflix is looking for a 17 year old Brazilian boy to play Luffy. Zoro will be a 18 year old Asian man. Nami is listed as a 19 year old and open to any ethnicity. Usopp is a 17 year old man black man.
Considering that Netflix is still for actors to cast for the series, it could take 2 to 3 years for One Piece live action to come out. According to some sources, live action could be released on July 22, 2022, which will be the 25th anniversary of manga series debut.
