New Program Will Let You Draw Anime Drawings From Rought Sketches

Making anime drawings has been a dream of many anime fans, but it is not easy learning how to draw anime characters because the learning curve is so steep. However, there is a new program being developed by a Japanese software engineer, which will let you create cute anime drawings from your rough sketches.

Japanese software engineer, 高 坂 (@t_takasaka), recently posted a demonstration video on Twitter where you can see rough drawing sketches being turned into cute anime girls in real time. The post has gone immensely viral, getting thousands of likes in 24 hours.

I am experimenting with automatically generating illustrations from sketches in real time. I hope that even people who have never drawn a picture can draw an illustration of reasonable quality in a short time. Next, we plan to add a parameter slider so that you can change the style and shape after drawing. (The author writes in his tweet)

In a follow up tweet, 高 坂 (@t_takasaka), shared another video explaining that after you are done with the sketch, you can change the style, shape, shadow, face orientation, etc. There are 512 types of parameters which can be adjusted. His next plan is to automatically create 3d models from the drawing.

高 坂 (engineer) works in the software company which makes VRoid Studio (a 3d character production software). The technology looks really promising. Imagine creating a 3d character (just like V-tuber) which causes thousands of dollars to make, and if you want to learn 3d modeling, it will take months and months. However, this software could make life easy for a lot of people.

Previously, a new app was launched which lets you create manga without drawing. Although, World Maker app is accessible worldwide, but it is in Japanese language so it is unusable if you don’t how to read Japanese.
