The fourth season of the Rent a Girlfriend series has been officially greenlit for a 2025 release, continuing the story of Kazuya Kinoshita and Chizuru Mizuhara’s complex relationship.

The announcement coincides with the seventh anniversary of Reiji Miyajima’s original manga, which has been running in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since July 12, 2017.
To mark this milestone and the upcoming season, a special “production decision visual” has been unveiled, featuring artwork by Miyajima himself.
The visual depicts Kazuya and Chizuru hand-in-hand, dressed in outfits that hint at the storylines to come in the fourth season. Chizuru’s pose, with her hand forming the number “4,” playfully nods to the upcoming installment.

A trailer has also been released, offering a glimpse into what viewers can expect. Using illustrations from the original manga, the video first recaps memorable moments from the third season before revealing that season four will adapt the “Hawai Trip Arc.”
“Rent-A-Girlfriend” began its journey as a manga in 2017 and quickly gained popularity for its unique premise and engaging characters. The series currently spans 32 volumes in Japan, with consistent releases maintaining its place as one of Weekly Shonen Magazine’s top titles.

The anime adaptation, produced by TMS Entertainment, first hit screens in July 2020. Its blend of romance, comedy, and drama resonated with audiences, leading to a swift renewal for a second season, which aired in 2022. The third season followed in 2023, each building on the success of its predecessors.
You can watch the series at Crunchyroll which describes Rent a Girlfriend as follows:
Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. “Ugh… Damn it. I never want to go through that again.” Completely spiteful, Kazuya uses a certain method to date a girl. He goes to their meeting place and suddenly hears, “You’re Kazuya-kun, right?” A beautiful girl brushing her long, black hair behind her ear was there, smiling at him. Her name was Mizuhara Chizuru. Something real is born after just a single rental! A reckless rom-com filled with love and excitement is about to begin!
