Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Is Coming To North America In February

Jujutsu Kaisen movie 0, that was released in Japan on Dec 24, has been confirmed to release in North America in February 2022. After great success in Japan, selling more than 60 million tickets and earning more than 8 billion yen, Jujutsu Kaisen is ready to break records worldwide.

According to Yahoo News Japan, Jujutsu Kaisen movie 0 will be simultaneously released in South Korean and North America in February. However, the official website of Jujutsu Kaisen hasn’t updated anything on the worldwide release date yet. Still, this is a good news for fans, considering that usually anime films take 7 or 8 months to get a release date outside of Japan.

The film 0 is a prequel story to the anime series, which tells the story of Yuta Okkotsu. The story will tell us more about the early life of Yuta.

Gege Akutami started Jujutsu kaisen manga series in March 2018, in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. However, this movie is based on a 1-shot manga, which was published in April 2017 in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine. Furthermore, Studio Mappa picked the series for anime adaptation, which was released in 2020. The movie 0 is also animated by Mappa Studio.

When Yuta was a child, he lost his childhood friend Rika in front of him in a car accident, suffered from the curse of Rika who turned into curse spirit. Gojo welcomes Yuta to a magic high school and swears that “I will break Rika’s curse at the magic high school.”
